About Me:

Name: Robert Dorris
Hometown: Southaven, MS
Current Vocation : Full time Internal Automotive, part time leather worker.

It's a pretty simple story: I enjoy guns and couldn't afford good leather in college. When my grandfather asked me what I wanted for Christmas I told him make me a holster for my first handgun, a Kimber Custom II. He told me that he would not but that he WOULD show me how to make one for myself. I'm still not sure who got the better end of that deal! One things that has stuck with me since the very beginning is his saying 'the first one is the real deal, the rest are just an imitation.' I have a box of first models in my shop as a reminder for different lessons.

The rest as they say is history.

Shop Help

Along the way I've had friends & family express interest in the work I do, and some have come to be a big help during busy times.

Courtney has the most important job of being my lovely bride. Outside of eye candy she is great running the sewing machine and burnishing edges. She hopes to move into floral carving in the future.

Chris is our resident jack of all trades. Great with edge finishing which is the largest 'bulk work' and time consumption in the shop. Hand dying edges is also quite a tedious part of that task.  Chris also happens to be my brother in law.
